I got my love of craft from my parents. One year my Mom got the idea to take some old insulation foil and make a human-sized potato chips bag for one of us to wear to the Fireman’s Carnival skating costume competition. She spent weeks on it and did a really complete job, bar code and all. My dad was more of a “tinkerer.” I would watch him take things apart, find the problem, fix it (usually) and put it back together.

Working with glass is a bit different in the sense that you’re always working with or against the elements.  Once you start making a piece, you’re fully committed with a time frame for getting the piece done.  When you’re blowing glass, it’s imperative to find your “zone” and go with it. Glass blowing will always be a part of my life in one way or another.
